William M West helps find the right business computer and technology solutions. William M West has contributed professional articles to the Quantum PC Report for CPAs, the California Society's Outlook, and InfoWorld, a computer trade journal. He is a past President of the Silicon Valley Computer Society. William M West is an accounting and tax partner with Intuit, for both its Quicken and QuickBooks accounting systems, and its TurboTax tax preparation system. As an accounting partner, Intuit refers customers to William M West for help. William M West is a participating member of the California Society of CPA's State Technology Committee and Chair of its Bay Area Regional Technology Committee. He has chaired for multiple years the San Chapter's Technology Committee. He has presented hundreds of hours of professional computer education for CPAs. William M West has worked with computers for 30 years. His marketing experience includes vertical market systems for the aviation and accounting industries, and bar code/magnetic card systems. He has been a programmer and analyst. His mainframe experience ranges from the 1955 IBM RAMAC 305, through the IBM 1401, and the IBM 360 and its successors. His software experience includes languages such as COBOL, Fortran, PL/I, Basic, Assembler; and packages such as for statistical analysis, securities, budgeting, and graphics.
William M West has a wealth of finance experience. William M West received his Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance and statistical modeling from the University of Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College. In 1971 Mr West became Vice President, Finance, then President of the National Auto Group of Insurance Companies. He was previously a property and casualty underwriter, and a life agent. Mr West negotiated the sale of these family companies to the Kemper Group.
Mr West has worked with real estate in many forms. Many of his individual
clients own income properties. He supervised the developers of 300 single
family homes in Burbank, California. His CPA practice includes many real
